License keys#

Chatvia is free to use, with no limits on agents, teams or replies. The full source code is always public, with or without a key.

A license key is a license, not a cloud service. Chatvia always runs on your own server, and we never host it or see your data. The key only unlocks more in the install you already run. It can do three things:

• It turns on the Pro features and hides the small "Powered by Chatvia" line under hosted chats and chat widgets.
• An Enterprise key also turns on the Enterprise features.
• A SaaS key also turns on the Enterprise features, and lets you sell Chatvia to other people and companies as a hosted service.

You buy keys at chatvia.ai/license. There are three kinds.

Each key works on one install at a time.

What needs a key#

Agents, teams, teammates and replies have no limit, with or without a key. A key turns on the rest:

If a key is removed or ends, the workspaces you already have keep working. You cannot add another one until you are back to one workspace, or add a key. The API stops at once. Capabilities and forms stop at once too. The Sentiment, Tone, Topics and Sources pages lock at once, but chats are still analyzed, so the history is there when a key comes back. Your settings, forms and leads are kept, but leads are locked until you add a key again. Live Chat stops taking new chats at once, but a chat a teammate already holds goes on until they give it back or the visitor ends it.

Setup and a one-hour call#

With any key, you can add a one-hour call for $99. We install Chatvia on your server for free, turn on automatic updates, and help you set it up. When you click Buy, we ask if you want to add it. After you pay, reply to the email with your key to book the call.

What Enterprise unlocks#

With an active Enterprise or SaaS key, these features work in your install:

• SIEM delivery. Every security event is sent to your SIEM as it happens.
• IP allowlist. Only trusted networks and countries can reach the dashboard and the API.
• Audit-log export. Download the security audit log.
• Custom data retention. Delete old chats on a schedule, and clear visitor details after a set number of days.

You find them on your workspace's Security page. You also get priority email support: we answer your emails first.

What SaaS adds#

A SaaS key is for companies that sell Chatvia to other people and companies as a hosted service: your customers use an install that you run, instead of running their own. The Chatvia license allows this only with a SaaS key. It has everything in Enterprise, and you can give each customer their own workspace.

You do not need a SaaS key to run Chatvia for your own company, even with many workspaces, or to install Chatvia on a customer's own server.

Add a key to your install#

1. Sign in to your Chatvia admin panel.
2. Open License in the sidebar.
3. Paste the key in License key and save. This activates the key for your install's domain.
4. To hide the credit, turn off Show the credit and save again.

Your install checks the key once a day. The last day a key works is written inside it, so it keeps working even when your install cannot reach chatvia.ai.

Manage your keys#

Open the manage page and enter the email you paid with. We send you a sign-in link. There you can:

• copy each key, and see where it is active,
• revoke a key from an install,
• download your invoices.

For each key, the page shows when it renews. Manage billing opens Stripe, where you can change your card, get every renewal invoice, or cancel.

When a key ends#

All keys renew each year. If you cancel, or a renewal payment fails, the subscription ends at the end of the paid year.

• The key keeps working for 14 more days. This gives a late payment time to go through.
• After that, the key stops working. The credit shows again and the Pro features turn off, and so do the Enterprise features of an Enterprise or SaaS key. The last day is written inside the key, so this happens even if your install cannot reach chatvia.ai.
• Each renewal moves that last day on. The daily check gets the new date from chatvia.ai, so you never paste the key again.
• Your settings stay saved. If you renew the key later, the features come back after the next daily check, or right away when you save the key again on the License page.
• An ended key cannot be activated on an install.
